Whether playing guitar, saxophone, piano, bass or percussion Peter is equally at home.

Despite being some months behind production due to a serious accident the CD is six weeks from completion.

Many thanks for the many kind messages through Peter's website and all about jazz.

The injuries Peter sustained due to his fall were serious enough at the time to suggest permanent disability.

Through the love and kindness of friends and family and God's grace (and Peter's stubborn ways) he is recovering.

The specialists working with him have been amazed at his recovery and expect him to fully recover all mobility by summer 2010.

The George and Dragon

The pub is a labour of love for Peter.

Having enjoyed a wee dram or two over the years Peter decided to take the pub on nearly four years ago.

When no-one else would.

The old place was a mess with no investment for many years.

Peter piled a lot of money into the project to make it look as one brewery director once said:

"Of all the pubs I have visited this is the very best".

Fine words for a fine pub.

Standards are high as you would expect from any project with Peter's name on it.

Standards of decor, comfort and style.

Sadly some folk have not managed to match those standards and have fallen by the wayside.

Peter's response?.

RAISE YOUR STANDARDS.

On a mandate of no abuse, bullying, intimidation or aggression allowed Peter has remained steadfast.

The George and Dragon after many years of one or two individuals bullying others is now an oasis of calm.

And will remain that way.

Since Peter's accident not suprisingly the pub has not been top of the agenda.

We have not opened as much as we wished and our sincere apologies for that.

However we are now about to remedy that situation.

The George will re-open soon full time incorporating a new and exciting G and D Business Hub.

Free Wifi throughout the building, teas and coffees with pastries during the day.

Business meeting space - Seminar facilities.

And much more.

I was visited by an old friend Danny last week to tell me he will be taking over the Kings Head at the end of February.

There has been some (at times unpleasant) competition between the two pubs which has saddened me.

However the two places could not be more different and as Danny told me his place will be an old fashioned boozer.

Because I have known Danny some years I expect no further hostility in fact it was a pleasure to have him in here drinking with me.

Danny will be the third person having a go down there since I arrived and I wish him well.

He has assured me of a warm welcome in his pub and after so many years that will be tremendous.

As I have always told my regulars there should be no bad feelings and they should drink in both pubs.

He also assured me that the mindless gossip now sadly associated with the Kings Head would end upon his arrival.

Great news indeed !!.
